                                                               - A JOB OR WAY of LIFE?  

DEAR ASPIRANTS! Armed forces particularly Indian Army has always been fascinating to join and serve. Dream of many but fulfilled by few and lived by even fewer. Why has that been the case?

Probably because it has been confused by many to be a JOB and not way of LIFE. Army teach you to live life king size but always under the ambit of duty, for when oath is given it is stated clearly by GC(s) that 

 I, .........................., do swear in name of God that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by the law established and that I will, as in duty bound, honestly and faithfully serve in the regular Army of the Union of India and go wherever ordered by land, sea or air, and that I will observe and obey all commands of the President of the Union of India and the commands of any officer set over me even to the peril of my life. 

Joining army is dream, dreamt off by any once in lifetime but what is that much needed requirement that is always left unattended? The OLQ - Officer Like Qualities, though 15 in number but encompasses a lifetime. It takes years to build one forget 15. Then people ask, how sir than we develop these OLQ?  And sir answers smilingly JUST START LIVING THEM SON!

This is the beauty of army, here you are not born but you become. You become a man of valour, courage, determination, responsibility, authority and add all the good adjectives you find in Oxford dictionary. For here people are selected and not elected. Following the principle of Darwin "the best man survives, and he survives to win".

So next time you dream of joining ARMY be wise to look what you are choosing- a job or Way of LIFE?
